Game of Thrones is currently one of the most popular and successful fantasy TV series ever made and is shot on location in Northern Ireland. Filming of seasons 1-4 took place in the Titanic Studios in Belfast and across various locations throughout Northern Ireland including the Cushendun Caves, Murlough Bay, Ballintoy Harbour, Larrybane, Antrim plateau, Castle Ward, Inch Abbey and Downhill Strand. Visitors to the region can bring to life key locations such as The Stormlands, Dragonstone, Pyke, The King’s Road, Renly’s Camp, Pyke and the Saltpans.  Stroll in the footsteps of many of your favourite characters such as Arya Stark, Catelyn Stark, Brienne of Tarth, Littlefinger, Theon, Renly Baratheon and many more.  Mapping the locations from Ballygally Castle , visitors can participate in a three-day self-guided voyage of discovery that lets them adventure through the scenic splendour of the Seven Kingdoms. Meanwhile, other high-end tours that can be organised by Ballygally Castle offer guests an opportunity to see 7 iconic sites from Series 1 to 4 with their own Grand Measter. These tours run over 9 ½ hours and are priced at £35 for adults, £20 for children and £90 for a family of 2 children and 2 adults. For those who would rather horse-ride, packages are also available from Ballygally Castle which take visitors on horseback through the iconic and enchanting dark hedges.  

In the seaside area of Glenarm, Steeensons jewellers craft the ornaments that adorn the royals of Westeros. As Ballygally Castle is the only place where visitors can see an official display of Game of Thrones jewellery outside of the shop itself, guests will be delighted by many of the intricate pieces from the series such as Joffrey’s crown, Lannister lion pendants, stag pins and silver fish brooches along with official Game of Thrones merchandise available to purchase. Locations for shooting are seen within the hotel  

Meanwhile, for a true taste of the series, Ballygally Castle can host special medieval banquets which accommodate groups between 10-30 people. Alternatively, channel Queen Cersei with a Game of Thrones Afternoon Tea, including various delectable treats such as Sansa Stark’s Lemon Cakes, Kingslayer Cupcakes Baratheon Bread, Hodor’s Pulled Pork Brioche, Jon Snow Cakes and Dothraki Trifle with mini Dragon’s eggs!

The Game of Thrones Afternoon Teas will immerse people into the dark and mysterious mood of the show and are available from 2 – 5pm Monday to Saturday and 3-5pm on Sundays for only £22 per person. Please allow for 24 hours’ notice for reservations.
