Massai meets Versailles at andBeyond’s Ngorongoro Crater Lodge unveiling

In 2013, andBeyond officially embarked on an ambitious lodge investment strategy, with last year being the year when the majority of the construction work was completed. The results have been truly outstanding and guests are now enjoying the new look and same world-class andBeyond guest experience at each of the lodges that received a facelift.

andBeyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is the next lodge to now proudly unveil its new and sophisticated air of elegance. With a renewed focus on energising the lodge’s classic dining experience, layers were added to each of the guest areas to enable relaxed dining in a variety of different, and equally beautiful locations.

The lodge’s arrival area has received a brand new look and glass panes have been installed in the guest areas at all three of the camps that the lodge is divided into. At South Camp, a sumptuous new dining room and well-stocked wine cellar allow for intimate meals and wine tasting sessions. All three camps now boast stylish, comfortable outdoor seating where guests can unwind and enjoy relaxed al fresco dining and drinks overlooking the breath-taking Crater below.

Keeping with the lodge’s sophisticated “Maasai meets Versailles” ambience, meals and afternoon canapés are now elegantly presented on grand brass platters, Turkish skewers, crystal bowls and vintage silver trays. The not-to be- missed Crater floor banquets also now proudly feature crockery adorned with the lodge’s official crest.

Over the course of this year, even more amenities will be added to the ever romantic and luxurious guest suites to ensure the ultimate comfort at all times (think central heating, intricately mosaicked showers, heated towel rails, personal bars and dressing tables complete with international adapters to conveniently charge electronics). The showers in the guest suites are scheduled to be refurbished and all the suites will receive brand new outdoor furniture for guests to enjoy while delighting in the magnificent views.

Rates from £710 per person per night, based on two sharing and including all meals, two safari activities per day and transfers.
