Experience new wine journeys at Grand Hotel de Bordeaux & Spa

Grand Hotel de Bordeaux & Spa’s Wine Concierge Service is launching three brand new experiences to its ‘Wine Journey Series’ with ‘Dolce Vita on the Garonne River’, ‘Family Excursion to a Château’ and ‘Caviar Wine’. Whilst visiting some of the region’s most prestigious châteaux and finest wineries, the hotel offers guests a variety of unique experiences to enjoy as part of the Wine Concierge Service’s dedicated program of activities.

Based on their unparalleled relationships with Bordeaux’s prestigious châteaux, the wine concierges at the hotel can handle all the logistics for the wine journeys, in order to provide guests with a level of access to this unique wine heritage that is unsurpassed in the world of luxury hotels.

Dolce Vita on the Garonne River
Launching in June, the hotel will offer guests a private ride in a ‘Century Sea Maid’ boat to Lamarque in the Médoc region, where they can enjoy exclusive access to two châteaux including Château de Lamarque. The boat will leave from the Bordeaux docks, located five minutes from the hotel. The hotel’s Executive Chef Stéphane Carrade can also create a delicious picnic to be enjoyed in the vineyards, complementing the wines available. After a day of wine tasting, guests will be transported back to the hotel in a limousine to enjoy an evening at their own leisure.

The ‘Dolce Vita on the Garonne River’ is priced from €830 for three people. One night in a deluxe room starts from €319.

Family excursion to a Chateau
The second in the new series of wine journeys is the ‘Family Excursion to a Château’. Specially created for families, this package will provide guests with the opportunity to enjoy the ultimate family outing; allowing adults to enjoy the wines from the estate, safe in the knowledge that the children are being entertained. The hotel will arrange a transfer to Château Bardins in Cajaudac in the morning, where both children and adults are invited to the chateau’s atelier for an interactive class discovering an array of different flavours, scents and aromas. This will be followed by a 45 minute gourmet hunt in the vineyards of the chateau for the children, whilst adults can enjoy a 45 minute wine tasting.

Executive Chef Stéphane Carrade will create a delicious picnic for the family to enjoy at lunchtime prior to an afternoon visit to Villa Gallo-Romaine de Loupiac. Adults will be welcomed by the owner for a wine tasting, and children will be invited to join various arts and crafts ateliers including mural paintings.

This package will launch in April and is priced at €320 for four people (including two adults and two children). Accommodation in a recently renovated Junior Family Suite, including amenities by Bonpoint, starts from €1,600 a night.

Caviar and wine
For those with a passion for caviar and fine wine, the hotel can arrange a caviar tasting at Chateau Leroy–Beauval, featuring three Sturia caviars from the Aquitaine region, accompanied with Champagne. In the afternoon, guests will be invited to visit a vineyard in either Saint-Emilion or Pomerol to enjoy a wine tasting in a prestigious surrounding.

Lunch is optional and is not included in the overall package price; however the hotel can suggest and book a table for guests to enjoy a meal in one of the delicious restaurants located in the Saint-Emilion area.

This package is available from April and is priced at €360 for two people.
