The Lodge Hotel expands with 25 new guest rooms  and 1,800 sqft events space

The Lodge, London,
Over the past 40 years, The Lodge, London, has grown from a 9-bedroom guesthouse to encompass 77 guest rooms, scheduled to launch this summer, complete with a delectable restaurant - Hide & Seed, quintessential library, gym and numerous spaces for eating, drinking, meetings and events.

This July 2015, The Lodge Hotel enters it's next chapter, with the launch of 25 new guest rooms, and a brand new 1800 sq ft events space, able to cater for receptions of up to 200 guests, achieving the accreditation of BREEAM Excellence for sustainable design and build, all under the watchful eye of its third generation hotelier, Ben Hirschfeld.

Ben Hirschfeld comments, “To be taking The Lodge into this developmental phase, following an update to the rest of the hotel through extending and adding 25 bedrooms, is an exciting step in the evolution of the hotel.”

He went onto say, “it was important to build something of real quality. Putney is going through a bit of a transition, lots of the 1960s blocks are being redeveloped and we wanted to make sure the area is supported by a first class hotel in every sense, providing it with upscale accommodation, and a variety of meeting & events, and dining facilities.

Starting with a clean slate, it was important that the new spaces are both future proof and sustainable. Our ultimate aim is to ensure the comfort of our guests for years to come – which as always been our main focus at The Lodge, right from the very first day my grand parents opened the hotel in 1970.”

The Lodge has enlisted Bristol based architects AWW Inspired Environments, and local interior designers Distinction Contracts, bringing their extensive knowledge and green credentials to this project.

New Superior Garden rooms have been carefully curated in an urban chic design and will feature King size Hypnos beds, bespoke furniture, air conditioning, garden views, sleek bathrooms with power showers, and free fibre optic wi-fi.

The building’s exterior will feature Award winning Wienerberger Con Mosso bricks, large steel windows, reflective rain screen cladding, solar panels and sedum roofing to promote ecological benefits to the close environment.
