Raffles Dubai launches two new culinary experiences

The famously pyramid-shaped Raffles Dubai is a landmark and a destination in itself, with some of the best restaurants and bars in town.  Now that reputation is set to grow, as the hotel gives its guests two new choices for their culinary pleasure – a garden oasis and a brand new Italian restaurant that will capture guests’ palates with simple Italian food, perfect for sharing.

The hotel's 1,500 square metre garden has been transformed by the addition of 12 open-air cabanas, all surrounded by lush vegetation and views of the city.  One of the very few garden venues in the city, the new Raffles Garden has undergone a complete landscape restructure with new pathways, state-of-the-art lighting installations and surround sound music systems, offering diners the ultimate al fresco journey.  Built around a centerpiece glass dome, the garden design takes inspiration from the four elements of life: Water, Air, Fire and Earth.  On the menu is a selection of Arabic delicacies and refreshing drinks, as well as flavoured shishas.   

Commenting on the Raffles Garden launch, Ayman Gharib, General Manager of Raffles Dubai, said:   "We are delighted to unveil the new look of Raffles Garden, a true oasis in the heart of the city. Each private cabana invites you to explore a menu of Arabic delicacies, refreshing drinks and flavoured shishas in a serene garden setting – all  complemented by our gracious service."   

Alongside the Raffles Garden opening, the launch of Solo Bistronomia & Vinobar brings a brand new Italian concept to Raffles – a combination of bistro and gastronomia (gastronomy), a twist on Italian haute cuisine.   Solo is a partnership between two Italian friends in Dubai: chef Corrado Pani (originally from Sardinia) and sommelier Luca Gagliardi (from Puglia).  Solo a presents a main dining area, the terrazza for outdoor alfresco dining and great views and a mezzanine level, for private events.  

The open-plan kitchen serves homemade dishes, inspired by Italy’s diverse regions, and central to the philosophy is Italian-style sharing plates, with some dishes being served in pots and pans, in the spirit of family-style sharing.  Wine also plays a big part in the Solo philosophy - there are two bars, the Vino Bar and the Cellar Bar, with a cellar that houses as many as 700 different varieties of wines, with 24 available by the glass and a variety produced in Italy exclusively for Solo Bistronomia.  

Corrado Pani explains - “Solo is ONLY about good living. We’ve created a concept here that is more about a lifestyle - bringing families and friends together around a table to share delicious Italian soul food and interesting wines, over many a conversation. We want Solo to be a home away from home for any day and night of the week, not just for special occasions”
