Macdonald Hotels announce new Wellness Rooms for 2015

With the demand for rejuvenating, wellbeing breaks having never been greater, Macdonald Hotels announce the arrival of dedicated Wellness Rooms, providing a one-stop shop for all health and wellbeing needs at three of the group’s top Spa Hotels. Macdonald Portal Hotel in Chester, Macdonald Alveston Manor in Stratford-upon-Avon and Macdonald Craxton Wood in Cheshire are the first hotels to be able to provide this new comprehensive wellbeing facility, with the intention to expand the offering across other hotels throughout 2015.

The new Wellness Rooms are a designated space for one-to-one wellbeing expert consultations, covering everything from dietary advice and fitness assessments through to physiotherapy and complementary therapies. It’s the perfect way to kickstart a New Year wellbeing programme, combining a focus on health and fitness with the relaxation of spa.

“The Macdonald Hotel Group appreciate how important wellness is to our guests and we want everyone – our hotel guests, our Vital Health Club members and our day spa visitors - to have the opportunity to get expert professional wellbeing advice,” explains Jeanette Jones, Macdonald Hotels Managing Director, Leisure & Spa. “With the introduction of our new Wellness Rooms, we hope we can play a part in helping the nation take control of their own health and boost their wellbeing.”

In order to help each member improve their overall wellbeing, the Macdonald Hotel's Vital Health Clubs are offering free comprehensive Health Checks as part of their health club membership. The Vital Health Check includes an analysis of blood pressure, resting heart rate, body mass index (BMI), body composition (Fat), peak flow lung function, flexibility and aerobic fitness.

As part of the Macdonald Hotels integrated approach, members can also have a FITECH health and fitness assessment.  Working with the FITECH report, the expert Macdonald Vital Health and spa team are always on hand to advise and support on the best ways to achieve specific health goals - whether it is through following a personal training programme, having a specific treatment, trying an exercise class or using the pool.

Everyone's health goals are different but through educating and providing continuous advice and support, the Macdonald Hotels’ Vital Health and spa team aim to improve not only their member's health but the health of Britain.
