Royal Cliff’s deVine Wine Club experiences exquisite flavors of France

On the evening of November 21, 2014,  deVine Wine Club members and valued guests came together for Royal Cliff’s La Route des Vins de Bordeaux French Wine dinner held at  the Royal Grill Room & Wine Cellar of the Royal Cliff Beach Hotel. The event was a great opportunity for wine lovers to indulge in excellent Bordeaux wines which are internationally recognized for its distinguished quality and inimitable flavours.

The evening commenced with an elegant cocktail reception at Royal Cliff’s Sunset Terrace Lobby & Bar where wine aficionados cheerfully mingled and relaxed over delicious canapés and champagne. Guests experienced a delicious spread of remarkable hors d’oeuvres exuding authentic French flair flavors including gourmet black and green olive tapenades, appetizing Brittany Oyster Vichyssoise and distinctive duck liver mousse macaroons complimented with Vauve Chantal Brut Blanc de Blancs NV, Borie-Manoux.

Mrs. Panga Vathanakul, Managing Director of the Royal Cliff Hotels Group, Mr. Vitanart Vathanakul, Executive Director of the Royal Cliff Hotels Group along with Mr. Antonello Passa, General Manager of the Royal Cliff Hotels Group and Acting President of the deVine Wine Club were present to welcome distinguished guests to the exclusive affair. Wine connoisseur Mr. Berenger Le Boursicot, the current Export Manager for Southeast Asia & the Middle East of Borie Manoux: Bordeaux Wine Negociant & Classified Estates owner was the guest speaker of the evening.

Royal Cliff’s award-winning culinary team has created the best complimenting food and wine pairings especially for the event. The delectable 5 course dinner featured Mackerel and Tasmanian salmon tartare with fruit de mer and fava beans on Saffron sauce and mussel foam paired with Bordeaux Sauvignon A.B.C, Turpin Freres et Riout, 2012. It was followed by delicious oven roasted Barramundi steak, sautéed Belgium endives on Beurre blanc sauce paired with Bordeaux Blanc Château du Pin, Borie-Manoux 2010. The appetizing main course featured grain fed Charolaise fillet of beef with morels bone marrow and baby vegetables complimented with Château Mauvinon Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Controlée Vignobles Tribaudeau, 2008. Typical to authentic French dinners, guests were also treated to a rich French cheese selection with dried fruits and fig bread topped with Château Trotte Vieilli Saint-Emilion 1er Grand-Cru Classé, Borie-Manoux 2006. Fresh raspberries with vanilla mousse, white chocolate coated almond and violet raspberry ice cream served with Château Suduiraut Sauternes 1er Cru Classe, 2006 ended the remarkable night on a very sweet note.

The evening proved to be a wonderful treat for wine lovers who indulged in an exquisite menu accompanied by the alluring flavors of an exceptional treasure trove of Bordeaux wines!
