Radisson Blu Edwardian, London announced as Official Hotel Partner to 800th Anniversary of the Magna Carta

Radisson Blu Edwardian, London is supporting the launch of the newly developed Magna Carta trails and website.
To commemorate the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta – the charter supporting public freedoms - six new geographic tourist trails, each covering different aspects of the Magna Carta’s story, have been devised. Running from London through Salisbury, Durham and the West Midlands, the trails last two or three days.

“We’re delighted to be the official hotel partner to the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta. We recognise the importance of a strong heritage – we’re proud of ours, having been a London brand since the opening of our first hotel in 1978. Our properties are perfectly located across the capital and in Guildford providing the ideal base when visiting the Magna Carta sites at both the British Library and Runnymede,” says Linda Plant, Group Director of Sales from Edwardian Group London.

“Magna Carta is one of the most important historical documents in the world. We value its impact on today’s business practices. At Radisson Blu Edwardian, London, we are focused on providing a collaborative and collegiate working environment and feel the rights imposed by this charter have helped to pave the way for that. We welcome the upcoming celebrations in 2015 in England.”

These new trails are designed to encourage domestic and international visitors to join the commemoration of the 800th anniversary of the sealing of the Magna Carta in June 2015 at Runnymede and other locations.

Sir Robert Worcester KBE DL, chair of the Magna Carta 800th Anniversary Committee said: “I am thrilled by this partnership and we are keen to encourage visitors and all those interested in England’s heritage to visit the many sites associated with Magna Carta. This website and the suggested trails will be an invaluable source for everyone.”
