Jack Sprat Shack from Jakes Hotel, Jamaica

From August 2014, Jakes Hotel in Jamaica will open the doors to Jack Sprat Shack - an exciting new accommodation offering for eco-conscious travellers and larger groups, with solar energy powering all electrical, air conditioning and hot water.

Jack Sprat Shack will comprise two dorms – each with 20 bunk beds, 6 Double rooms and a shared bathroom – whilst those who require a little more privacy can stay in one of the six twin-bed bedrooms located on the upper floor. A communal full-service kitchen will be available for guests to recreate their own Jamaican-inspired fare (a cook can be arranged upon request) whilst a dining room and living room with flat screen TV are at the guests’ disposal – ideal spaces for holiday story swaps.    

A five-minute walk to the Treasure Beach Sports Park with its General Colin Powell Ropes Course and dedicated sports grounds, and a stone’s throw from Jack Sprat Seafood and Pizza Restaurant – famed for the best pizza on island – Jack Sprat Shack’s convenient setting ensures unrivalled access to the south coast’s favourite hotspots. The team will be on hand to recommend activities – such as zip lining at the Sports Park and invigorating hiking and biking trails - and arrange excursions to YS Waterfalls, the off-shore Pelican Bar, Black River Safaris and the famous Appleton Rum distilleries nearby.  

Set in the small seaside fishing village of Treasure Beach on Jamaica’s south coast and renowned for its laid back atmosphere, With the addition of Jack Sprat Shack, Jakes will provide an array of accommodation for all travellers.
