QHotels shines Gold after award winning first half of 2014

QHotels is gleaming gold this July after receiving over 39 accreditations and awards in the last 12 months, recognising its exemplary service standards. The group’s latest success sees The Oxford Belfry, Chesford Grange, The Stratford, Crewe Hall, Ashford International Hotel and The Westerwood Hotel and Golf Resort retain the VenueVerdict Gold Standard Accreditation, for the second consecutive quarter this year.

It also follows the group receiving top honours earlier in the year, VenueVerdict’s Gold Standard Group award and No.1 Large Group award, and most recently celebrating industry success with The Midland crowned Group Hotel of the Year at the Caterer and Hotelkeeper Awards 2014. Only 27 venues in the UK received the Gold Standard Accreditation this quarter, based on how likely event hosts are to recommend a venue for a conference or event. Feedback was collected from 22,000 event hosts and customers across 380 venues, through research conducted by BDRC Continental, the UK’s largest independent market research agency.

Not only is the hotel brand enjoying success with its award wins, but its reputation as a high quality conference and events provider has seen a 164% uplift YOY in conference web enquiries. Michael Purtill, Managing Director at QHotels, said: “We have had a brilliant start to 2014 and the latest VenueVerdict victory has enabled us to continue to shine with our conference and events offering specifically. We can already see the positive effect this is having on the level of enquiries our team are receiving across the group.

“The accreditation is testament to the hard work of our teams at each hotel, dedicated to providing a professional, helpful, friendly and flexible service, tailored to each organiser’s needs. It is also of the upmost importance as it proves that event hosts are not only enjoying our exemplary service but are actively recommending us.

“It shows that we’re consistently hitting the mark with our meetings and events offering, with some of our hotels having retained this accreditation since 2011.”

Continually evolving its product, the group ensures that the feedback it receives is not only listened to but also put into action, resulting in the group achieving 14 points above national average in Net Promoter Score.

James Bland, Client Services Director at BDRC Continental, said: “Achieving and maintaining a Net Promoter Score that is consistently above the national benchmark requires a very high level of performance across the board.  However, the attributes that separate the good from the great are generally the softer, more people-focused elements of service.  Achieving high scores for understanding planners’ priorities, having friendly, helpful staff and adopting a flexible and responsive approach will have the greatest impact on brand advocacy, and these are all areas in which QHotels continue to perform strongly.”

QHotels continues to innovate within conference and events sector, tailoring its offering to reflect changing booker requirements. Most recently, the group added free dedicated event broadband internet to its portfolio, offering event hosts live streaming at optimum speed with increased security, to ensure greater flexibility in extending the reach of meetings and events beyond the venue. This offer is only available for events contracted by 30th September 2014 with a minimum value of £10,000 + VAT.
