Centara opens 5-star serviced residences in Mauritius

Centara Grand Azuri Residence & Suites Mauritius
The first phase of the five-star Centara Grand Azuri Residence & Suites Mauritius opened at the beginning of June, with an initial 17 units available and a further 15 units due to open by mid-July.

Operated by Centara Hotels & Resorts of Thailand, the development will eventually total 57 serviced residences, townhouses and penthouses.

Located on the northeast coast of the island, Centara Grand Azuri Residence & Suites is set directly on the beach and forms part of the new Azuri oceanfront lifestyle community, which includes shops, restaurants and a yacht club with marine facilities.

The residences are adjacent to the five-star Centara Grand Azuri Resort & Spa Mauritius, which opened in December 2013, and residents have access to the facilities of the sister resort.

“We are very proud indeed to be announcing the opening of these luxurious residences at the beautiful marine resort of Azuri,” says Thirayuth Chirathivat, Chief Executive Officer of Centara Hotels & Resorts.

“They perfectly complement our five-star resort hotel and offer a superb home-from-home for those who wish for a long-stay holiday, or who prefer independent living."

The residences and hotel are located in the heart of the village, 25 kilometres from the capital city of Port Louis and just over one-hour’s drive from the international airport.

Centara Grand Azuri Residence & Suites forms an intimate community located near to Azuri market place, shops and restaurants.

With a pristine beach embraced by a sparkling lagoon, the residences will be a perfect retreat for couples and a fun place for families.

“There is a wonderful sense of community here, and with the spacious and very stylish décor of the apartments, townhouses and penthouses we feel that the residences will appeal to couples, families, and groups of friends travelling together,” says Jean-Paul Martin, area general manager for Centara Mauritius.

“For leisure there is the beach and the lagoon, with about 60 different water sports and land-based activities available.

“All of us here at Centara Mauritius look forward to welcoming our residential guests.”

The residences are grouped into zones and offer a variety of accommodation options with two, three or four bedrooms and spacious outdoor areas, with some offering a private plunge pool.

Each residential zone has its own swimming pool complete with terraces to relax in intimate surroundings.

Residents enjoy the complimentary activities of sister resort Centara Grand Azuri Resort & Spa Mauritius, including non-motorised water sports such as snorkelling, kayaking, windsurfing and sailing, and use of the tennis court, quad bikes and other facilities.

Azuri Yacht Club is nearby and will arrange excursions including catamaran trips to the islands of Coin de Mire, Round Island, Flat Island, Ile d’Ambre and Ilot Gabriel.

The most adventurous residents will enjoy a selection of adrenaline packed activities, such as parasailing, undersea walking and underwater scooters, hiking and mountaineering, canyoning, and skydiving, all of which can be arranged by the concierge.

The development is a 20-minute drive away from the town of Grand Baie with its numerous dining and shopping opportunities.
