Jumeirah Bilgah Beach Hotel unveils summer season offers and new General Manager

Jumeirah Bilgah Beach Hotel has announced preparations for the start of the resort’s summer season and introduced the new General Manager, Christophe Mousset. 

Jumeirah Group also recognised the rapid growth of the tourism sector in Azerbaijan and the important role of international hotels in the Azerbaijan market, while noting the significant increase in the number of Azerbaijani tourists travelling to the United Arab Emirates and to Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts in particular.

During the conference current General Manager of Jumeirah Bilgah Beach Hotel Mete Atakuman expressed his gratitude to hotel guests, the local community, business partners, the hotel's owning company and staff at the luxury resort for the continuous support shown over the past three years.

Mete Atakuman said: “I am confident that Jumeirah Bilgah Beach Hotel will continue delivering the brand’s promise of Stay Different and will continue satisfying the guests with its service and facilities for many years to come.” Earlier it was announced that Jumeirah Group had appointed Mete Atakuman to lead the pre-opening phase of Jumeirah Guangzhou in China.

Mete Atakuman introduced new General Manager of Jumeirah Bilgah Beach Hotel, Christophe Mousset, who will now be responsible for the overall strategic direction and daily running of the hotel. Christophe Mousset has an impressive career in the luxury hotel industry with over 20 years’ experience in Europe, the Middle East, West Africa, Central America and Asia across luxury hotels, 8 of which in Jumeirah. In previous role he was the Hotel Manager of Jumeirah Zabeel Saray where he joined in 2010 for the pre-opening phase.

Christophe Mousset said: “I’m very excited to be joining the Jumeirah Bilgah Beach Hotel team as the hotel has just celebrated its second anniversary and is now entering the summer season. I’m also glad to be in Baku, Azerbaijan, one of the fastest growing countries in the region and I look forward to experiencing its culture and heritage.”

During 2013 the number of visitors from Azerbaijan to Jumeirah properties around the world grew by 24%; in the same period Jumeirah properties in Dubai witnessed a 23% growth in business from Azeri travellers. In the first four months of 2014 that trend continued with business from Azerbaijan to all Jumeirah properties up by over 26% and business to Jumeirah's eight hotels in Dubai growing by 32%.

Another highlight is the return of Jumeirah Restaurant Week. This global event is recognised as culinary extravaganza with over 60 restaurants participating all over the world. The famous dining experience and prominent food event started on Friday 23 May and will run until Saturday 31 May 2014.
