The Tour de France’s arrival in the Yorkshire for the Grand Départ may be over two months away but locally-based Cedar Court Hotels is already in top gear and looking after cyclists visiting the region.
One of Yorkshire’s best loved independent hotel collections, Cedar Court Hotels has been welcoming cyclists to the county for some time – providing the perfect starting points to explore the dramatic and diverse Northern landscape, and ideal places in which to relax and unwind  following a day in the saddle.

Throughout its five-strong chain of hotels, including Yorkshire’s only five-star rated hotel, Cedar Court Grand, pedal-powered guests are made especially welcome. From safe bike storage and cycle washing, to laundry facilities for clothes muddied by the country roads and cyclist-friendly lunches, crammed full of carb-laden snacks, Cedar Court Hotels has got it all covered.

The hotel’s five locations – Harrogate, Huddersfield/Halifax, Leeds/Bradford, Wakefield and York - are perfect for all levels of cyclists, including those looking to tackle the official route of the Tour de France.  Come the start of July, Cedar Court Hotels will be in the thick of the action with hotels located in two of the host cities and the others near key points along the initial stages of the internationally renowned competition.

During the Grand Départ’s visit to Yorkshire, Cedar Court Hotels will be joining in with the celebrations by offering a variety of events across their five locations including a gala dinner, complete with a local brass band, and a free family fun day with indoor screens relaying the action and children’s entertainment.

Kevin Henry, Managing Director of Cedar Court Hotels said: “Yorkshire has a lot to offer cyclists and Cedar Court Hotels have been used and enjoyed by riders for a number of years thanks to our unique range of facilities. It is great that more people are going to be coming to the region – either to take to the saddle or as spectators for the Tour de France. We look forward to welcoming them all”.

Bookings at all five hotels have been busy for the period around the Tour, with many guests making their reservations shortly after the announcement of the region’s success in bringing the competition to its roads, but there is currently still some availability. Cycling breaks from just £79 throughout the year can be booked via the Cedar Court Hotels website, or by calling the individual hotels.
