Jumeirah Group’s London hotels help the homeless

representatives present SleepSmart cheque
Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts, London have shown their dedication to fighting homelessness in the city by partnering with the SleepSmart campaign. Both Jumeirah Carlton Tower and Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel added a discretionary £1 per night’s stay to all guests’ bills throughout November and December 2013. The hotels raised a staggering £10,000 for the charity, which included contributions from the StreetSmart campaign through The Rib Room Bar & Restaurant.

Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts, London showed their commitment to supporting the work of hostels in London, especially during the cold winter months, by presenting a cheque to SleepSmart on Sunday 16 February after representatives the hotels visited St Columbas Church on Pont Street.

Part of West London Churches Homeless Concern, the hostels provide food and shelter to the homeless throughout the city.

Since its inception in 1998, StreetSmart has raised over £6.3 million for the homeless, and the campaign grows larger and more successful each year. Building on the success of their innovative £1 per table fundraising concept, the team behind StreetSmart launched the hotel campaign called SleepSmart. This campaign provides comfort and hope to people who live on the streets near hotels where guests stay in style. The campaign was sponsored exclusively by Deutsche Bank who covered both StreetSmart and SleepSmart’s administration costs, ensuring that every penny of each £1 donated was given to projects to help the homeless.
