A London hotel that is, itself, a visitor attraction

Marriott County Hall

ITCM spent a memorable night at the London Marriott County Hall

If you are planning to take a group to London to see the historic sights, why not choose to stay in one?
The London Marriott County Hall is one of the capital’s most impressive buildings –inside as well as outside. ITCM was combining a visit to a London hotel with an after-dark trip on the EDF Energy London Eye. We didn’t realise how possible it is to combine the two. We were fortunate enough to have a guest room that has its own balcony. Sitting there, we were within a couple of metres of the Eye’s pods as they slowly passed our room. A slight look to the left and we were face to face with Big Ben* on the other side of the river.

The Bristol Hotel in Bristol offers high value at low cost

Bristol hotel

ITCM enjoyed a visit to a Bristol waterfront Irish property with a self-contained conference centre

Where better to have a Bristol Hotel than in Bristol? And this Bristol Hotel is remarkably central, so much so that it is almost its only drawback. It is on Oxford Street, everyone’s favourite shopping area. It is opposite the entrance to Hyde Park. It has extensive meetings facilities. ‘It does therefore’, says Tim Cordon, General Manager since September 2010, ‘draw guests from every sector for all kinds of reasons.’

Glitz and glamour in a casual style

Grosvenor House, a JW Marriott Hotel London

ITCM reports on Grosvenor House, a JW Marriott Hotel – one of London’s prime conference properties

Grosvenor House, a JW Marriott Hotel London (to give it its full title), is one of the doyennes of 5-star hotels in London. It holds a central position on Park Lane, one of the swankiest addresses in London. JW Marriott is the hotel group’s top-of-the-range brand.
However, our stay at the Grosvenor House Hotel proved that it is not stuffy. The whole ambiance is relaxed, whilst at the same time the service is all a guest would expect from a hotel with those credentials.
