Event venue, Hothorpe Hall & The Woodlands, recognised as the best in Leicestershire

Hothorpe Hall & The Woodlands
Hothorpe Hall & The Woodlands, near Market Harborough, has been announced overall winner in the innovative business tourism partner category, as part of the prestigious Leicester & Leicestershire Tourism Awards 2016, developed and hosted by Leicester Shire Promotions. They also received a Highly Commended accolade in the category of Most Enjoyable Stay, for The Treehouse at The Woodlands.

Beating off stiff competition from the many exceptional venues from across the county that serve the Meetings, Conferencing and Exhibitions sector, representatives from Hothorpe Hall & The Woodlands were presented with their award at a glittering ceremony at Leicester’s Athena on November 30th 2016.

Having entered by application form, the entry highlighted Hothorpe Hall & The Woodlands’ innovative contribution to Leicestershire’s meetings, conferencing and exhibitions sector, as well as proving growth and excellent customer retention, showing increasing event booking figures for the past two years. The application proved to judges how having two contrasting venues – Hothorpe Hall’s traditional manor house as well as the modern Woodlands event village – set them apart from others in the county.

The application also showed how Hothorpe Hall & The Woodlands’ business mix across the year – from corporate meetings and Christian association group breaks to weddings and training courses – enabled them to optimise bookings, ensuring a sustainable business for staff and customers alike. Hothorpe Hall & The Woodlands’ company ethos, flexibility, improvement, investment, location and setting added further weight to their award winning application.

Managing Director of Hothorpe Hall & The Woodlands, Nicola Firth, said: “We are over the moon to receive this award. Our company vision is ‘From good to great’ and this award recognises just that. We are constantly striving to give our guests a fantastic experience when they visit Hothorpe Hall & The Woodlands – we listen to feedback that we get from our customers and we constantly re-invest and make improvements based on this feedback – so we are delighted to receive this recognition.”

Martin Peters, Chief Executive of Leicester Shire Promotions said: “We had an unprecedented response in terms of applications for this year's awards. The quantity and quality of applications provided a real challenge for the judges and the selected finalists show that we really have a tourism industry of which we can be proud in Leicester and Leicestershire.”

Hothorpe Hall & The Woodlands – which hosts the events of Leicestershire businesses as well as national and international customers – has seen revenue growth year-on-year and hopes that with the accolade of this award, it’ll help further business growth.

The treehouse – awarded the highly commended accolade in the Most Enjoyable Stay category – offers luxury B&B with further self-catering facilities in elevated accommodation nestled in the wooded grounds of Hothorpe Hall. Having opened in late May 2015 with the launch of The Woodlands at Hothorpe Hall, its popularity has gone from strength to strength with almost every night booked. It is thought to be the only luxury treehouse accommodation in Leicestershire.
