Winnie Chiu, J. P. President and Executive Director of Dorsett Hospitality International wins first World Outstanding Chinese Youth Award

Winnie Chiu, J. P. President and Executive Director of Dorsett Hospitality International was awarded the coveted World Outstanding Chinese Youth Award at the recently concluded inaugural World Outstanding Chinese Youth Award ceremony.  
Organised by the World Outstanding Chinese Youth Association, this prestigious award was accorded in recognition of outstanding Chinese youth who endeavour to achieve life goals, contributing significantly to Chinese culture as well as Chinese youth; and continuously provide mentoring and instilling positive life attitude in the younger generations.

“Being honoured with the first World Outstanding Chinese Youth Award with other Hong Kong elites is indeed a huge encouragement and endorsement; with this trust and confidence I will continue with my passion not only in managing Dorsett Hospitality International but also to continue with my philanthropy work…assisting those in need either through financial assistance such as scholarships to promote higher learning in education, arts and culture or various charitable sponsorships towards worthy causes.  

Now more than ever, I am determined to carry on with my quest in working closer with the youth in our society who are our future generation,” said Winnie on being accorded this coveted award.  

Winnie was most recently appointed as one of the youngest Justice of the Peace recipients by the government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.  Winnie Chiu has always been very dedicated in her support for the community in particular the unwavering contribution in the field of education. She was a guest professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and a Board Member of the Wu Yee Sun College and The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Through Dorsett Hospitality International, Winnie has accorded scholarships and internships opportunities for the students from different schools. In the past few years, more than 510 students have been awarded scholarship.  

With her passion for arts and culture, Winnie serves as a member of the Development Committee of the Hong Kong Arts Festival Society and the Chairman of Hong Kong Art School, member of the board of governors of Hong Kong Philharmonic Society Limited and Asia Youth Orchestra, Hong Kong Arts Centre, Vice Chairperson of the Friends of the Hong Kong Arts Centre and Executive Committee of The Society of The Academy for Performing Arts; has and will continue to support, develop and nurture talented individuals to succeed in the world of performing arts with different scholarships awarded to outstanding and deserving students each year.  

Winnie was recently accorded the Women of Hope 2016 Award: Global Champion category. In 2014, she was listed in Forbes Asia 2014: Top 12 Asia’s Power Businesswomen To Watch List and was awarded the 2014 Hong Kong Professional Elite Ladies award.
