General manager Steven Quick and Bar8 Brasserie assistant manager Olly Sheppard from Hogarths Hotel & Restaurant were presented with the Hotel Restaurant of the Year prize in the Midlands category at the inaugural Food Awards England and Wales.
The category won by the four-star hotel in Four Ashes Road, Dorridge, was among 26 awards announced on the evening at the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel.
The Food Awards England and Wales have been launched to reward the culinary brilliance shown at restaurants, takeaways, gastro pubs, hotel restaurants, cafes and bistros as well as shine the spotlight on local producers who supply local, fresh ingredients.
Steven said it was tremendous to win the award just days after securing their first AA rosette for culinary excellence.
He said: “We were delighted to be nominated along with six other Midlands venues but to hear our name read out was amazing.
“Awards which are voted for by the general public are always special and we would like to thank everyone who took the time to nominate Hogarths.
“It is a reward for the tremendous team effort shown by every single member of staff at Hogarths whether they are welcoming guests to the hotel, taking a booking or being busy in the kitchen creating a mouthwatering dish.
“We are committed to providing high standards of service and food on a consistent basis which I think are reflected in this award and securing our AA rosette.
“It has been a busy but rewarding few days receiving this national recognition and we have set our standards high to match these successes in 2015.
“Olly is getting quite used to collecting awards since he was recently presented with a Highly Commended Award in the Young Achiever of the Year category at the Solihull Chamber of Commerce Awards.
“The Food Awards England and Wales was a very enjoyable evening and it was an honour for Olly and I to collect the award on behalf of our owners, Helena and Andy Hogarth, and our colleagues.”
