Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre counts down to G20

Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) has experienced one of its busiest periods on record in an exceptional lead-up to the G20 Leaders Summit.
August and September saw the Centre welcome 223 events including 35 conventions delivering 15,000 delegates to Brisbane with an economic boost to the city of $39 million for the two month period.

Brisbane Showgrounds set to host royalty

Brisbane will host royalty when Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal (Princess Anne) attends a prestigious international agricultural conference next week at the iconic Brisbane Showgrounds.
Brisbane is buzzing with the prestige of hosting another royal visit, following The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and baby George’s trip to the sunshine state in April.

Rory Bremner and Simon Weston OBE head to ACC Liverpool for ADHD conference

Impressionist and comedian, Rory Bremner and Falklands War veteran, Simon Weston OBE are among a group of 24 speakers heading to ACC Liverpool for a two day conference about children and young people’s mental health.
The ADHD Foundation’s annual two day conference, which is entitled ‘Early Interventions and Transitions’, will feature a range of speakers from across the globe and will examine the escalating need for mental health support for children and young people and, in particular, the lack of joined up services as they transition into adult services at 16 years of age.

Liverpool reaps rewards of international conferences

The importance of international meetings and conferences to Liverpool’s economy has been underlined by a new report.
Since January 2014, the city has welcomed a number of high-profile international conferences, aside from those held during the International Festival for Business. The report, commissioned by ACC Liverpool and Liverpool Convention Bureau, shows that around 20,000 international delegates have visited the city during this period.

International Convention Centre Sydney sits at the heart of an emerging super precinct on the city’s western harbour 

At a forum focussed on the unprecedented rejuvenation of Sydney’s western harbour this week, private and public sector representatives discussed how best to promote an emerging super precinct, within the heart of which sits International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney).
Chief Executive Officer of ICC Sydney and AEG Ogden Group Conventions Director Geoff Donaghy said although the international convention centre was set within its own dynamic precinct of Darling Harbour, the destination was further bolstered by the growth of neighbouring finance, technology, media and student hubs.
