United Airlines unveils new amenities for top customers at Newark Liberty International Airport

United Airlines has opened a new Global Services reception lobby for its top frequent flyers at the airline’s New York hub at Newark Liberty International Airport. The new lobby offers personalized check-in and travel services to members of United’s invitation-only Global Services program, and to customers traveling on long-haul international flights in United Global First.

Aeromexico increases its seating capacity from Madrid by 25% and adds the Boeing 787 to its fleet

Aeromexico, Mexico's biggest airline, against the backdrop of the International Tourism Fair (FITUR – Feria Internacional de Turismo), has announced the addition of three weekly night flights on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
With the arrival of this new aircraft, the airline will meet the demand of the Spanish market, offering 243 seats - 32 in First Class with 180-degree reclining – with more space between seats, new individual entertainment systems and an improvement in cabin pressurization, among other features.

Finnair boosts flights to Lapland

Finnair and the biggest tour operators in Lapland have agreed a three-year cooperation arrangement for flights to Lapland as well as cooperation in marketing. Finnair will significantly add to its Lapland flight schedule in November 2014 with the start of the winter traffic timetable season. Flights will be added especially from Helsinki to Kittilä, Ivalo and Kuusamo.
Timetables have been drawn up to provide passengers with good connections between Lapland and European and Asian destinations via Helsinki.

Indonesia’s flag carrier introduces OnAir inflight connectivity

As of today, passengers flying with Garuda Indonesia, which won World Best Economy Class at the Skytrax World Airline Awards last year, can use OnAir’s inflight Wi-Fi product, Internet OnAir, throughout the flight. They can visit their favourite websites, work on email, and keep up to date on social media. The Wi-Fi service is provided through arrangements made with OnAir’s chosen strategic partner, PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (Telkom Indonesia), state owned enterprise company in Indonesia with business portfolio TIMES (Telecommunication, Information, Media, Edutainment & Services).

bmi regional launch four new direct routes from Stavanger starting today

The first direct routes linking the two fastest growing regions in Norway - Stavanger and Northern Norway - start today.  The new routes mean Norwegians can now fly direct, non-stop to Harstad/Narvik Airport (Evenes) and Tromsø - important hubs for the Norwegian oil and gas industry - without having to connect via Oslo. Similarly, new direct flights to Kristiansund and Gothenburg also commence today.
