Athens - Kalamata in just 45 minutes  with two flights daily by Olympic Air

Costa Navarino

Enhanced access to Costa Navarino from all major European and domestic destinations

With 12 flights from Athens and up to 6 flights from Thessaloniki,  Costa Navarino further enhances its accessibility, and offers travellers significantly reduced transfer times and enhanced connections with all major European and domestic destinations, as well as the opportunity to combine their stay  with a tour  of the islands.

Operated by Olympic Air, Aegean’s subsidiary, the new flights from Athens will launch on 1st of June 2017 and will run until the end of September, connecting directly the “Captain Vassilis Constantakopoulos” international airport of Kalamata, with the Athens International Airport.  Departure timings facilitate connectivity, with all long haul flights arriving at Athens airport, as well as European and Middle Eastern arrivals.

In addition to the new flights from Athens, new connections with Thessaloniki through Olympic Air have also been announced, operating as of 16th October and all year round, with 3 weekly flights in winter time, to reach 6 weekly flights in peak season.

Previously, in spring 2016, 9 new European destinations came to enhance Kalamata’s airport connectivity, thus substantially increasing the number of the visitors in the region.  According to data provided by the Greek Tourism Confederation, arrivals at Kalamata airport reached a 23% increase compared to same period during 2015, thus making it first among other Greek airports in increasing its yearly passenger figures.

For 2017, a further increase is also expected, given the new flights being offered by Aegean Airlines from Athens.

Costa Navarino has increased flight activity since 2010, with the aim to establish Kalamata international airport as among the fastest developing European airports.  In 2014, the “Captain Vassilis Constantakopoulos” was declared as the 3rd fastest growing among 300 airports in 43 European cities, with a positively catalytic impact on tourism, economy and society.

With amplified accessibility and year-round mild temperatures, Costa Navarino is ‘ideal for an all season vacation’. Situated in one of the most unspoiled and breathtaking seaside Mediterranean landscapes, it offers an extensive variety of activities, including two golf courses; The Dunes Course and The Bay Course, the award-winning Anazoe Spa, a 4,000 sq.m spa & thalassotherapy centre; specially designed facilities for children; as well as a variety of gastronomy venues, sports, outdoor and cultural activities.
