Turkish Airlines extends weekly flights from Edinburgh to Istanbul to ten

Turkish Airlines will grow their number of weekly flights from Edinburgh Airport to ten flights per week. The increase indicates the popularity of the airline as Edinburgh gets ready to implement the additional flights from 27th March, 2016. With this rise in flights from Edinburgh, Turkish Airlines implements double daily flights between Edinburgh and Istanbul on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.

Gordon Dewar, Edinburgh Airport’s Chief Executive, said: “This is great news and I wholeheartedly welcome the confidence that Turkish airlines have shown in Edinburgh Airport.

“Edinburgh Airport and Turkish Airlines complement one another and have grown together; this increased frequency between Scotland and Istanbul - which is massive global hub - takes our passenger choice to a new level.”

The new flights will begin from Sunday 27th March 2016 and this will boost our number of flights from Edinburgh to Istanbul to ten per week.

The new timings are highlighted below:
·      Monday – Sunday - Edinburgh 10:45 – Istanbul 17:05
·      Tuesday, Friday & Sunday – Edinburgh 15:50 – Istanbul 22:05

For frequent fliers in the Edinburgh region, this growth in flights will enable travellers an additional three flights per week from Edinburgh via Istanbul. Whether it’s for business or pleasure, from 27th March, 2016 Turkish Airlines will enable passengers the flexibility to fly from the airport to the airlines most popular destinations, Mauritius, Beijing, Singapore and Capetown, whilst offering double daily flights on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.
