Qatar Airways opens alternative gateway to UAE with flights to Ras Al Khaimah

Qatar Airways will expand its United Arab Emirates services with the launch of direct flights operating four times a week on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from Doha to Ras Al Khaimah from 2nd February 2016.
Ras Al Khaimah, which is the northern-most Emirate of the UAE, offers a beautiful, tranquil alternative to the often more crowded destinations in the Middle East. With year round sunshine, a diverse landscape and attractions suited to both thrill seekers and those that simply want to relax and indulge in five star luxury.

Ras Al Khaimah Airport is located just fifteen minutes away from idyllic beach front hotels offering the ultimate in luxury and convenience for those wanting to enjoy the maximum amount of time at their destination while on a long weekend away.

Ras Al Khaimah is fast becoming one the UAE’s most popular tourism destinations offering both incredible scenery and natural beauty coupled with 64-kilometres of shoreline providing superb spacious sandy beaches.

Visitors can enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities from swimming, fishing and golfing to exploring the desert by safari and experiencing a traditional Bedouin desert camp. Year round sun and warmth are guaranteed with the average daytime temperature between November and April reaching 28 degrees centigrade and 35 degrees centigrade during the summer.

Qatar Airways UK and Ireland Country Manager, Richard Oliver, said: “The beautiful untouched coastline of Ras Al Khaimah offers winter sun seekers a wonderful new alternative destination in the Middle East. With great value fares starting from just £300 return on Qatar Airways, a luxury long weekend holiday has become both easier and more affordable.”

Passengers departing from the UK will also be able to experience the renowned Qatar Airways 5-star product and service on board the latest Airbus A380 and Boeing 787 aircraft before connecting through the airline’s state of the art hub Hamad International Airport in Doha. When flying with Qatar Airways, passengers can look forward to one-stop transfers at the airline’s hub Hamad International Airport. The airport houses one of the world’s largest and most luxurious Business Class lounges – the Al Mourjan Business Lounge – and also has over 40,000 square metres of retail space and restaurants that includes a selection of more than 70 retail and 30 food and beverage outlets.

The national airline of the State of Qatar was named the world’s best carrier at the 2015 Skytrax Awards earlier in June, marking the third time the airline has won this coveted accolade. The airline also won Best Business Class Airline Seat and Best Airline in the Middle East.

Following the recent announcement that Qatar Airways will operate services from Birmingham, in addition to London, Edinburgh and Manchester the airline will offer passengers a total of 71 flights a week between the United Kingdom and Qatar from April 2016.
