DriveNow takes flight at London City Airport

A new convenient way to travel to and from London City Airport

Today, DriveNow has announced a partnership with London City Airport, allowing commuters and holidaymakers to drop off or pick up a car right next to the terminal. Whether you are driving to the airport ahead of a business meeting or arriving back in London after a city break, DriveNow provides a flexible and reliable car-sharing service.

Within minutes of landing, DriveNow customers can simply open the app, reserve their car and head straight into the city. What’s more, DriveNow offers the perfect solution for businessmen and women who need spontaneous travel solutions to London City Airport. With a fleet of 290 cars across North and East London, users can be in a DriveNow vehicle and on the way to the airport within minutes.

DriveNow is an on-demand ‘free-floating’ car sharing service, with a fleet of BMW 1 series, MINI Countryman and 50 BMW i3s – making it the largest electric car fleet in London. The innovative partnership opens the possibility of end-to-end journeys; customers can now drive to London City Airport, catch their flight and jump in another DriveNow car upon landing. DriveNow is available at 9 other airports across Europe, in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Vienna, Dusseldorf, Cologne, Hamburg, Munich and Berlin.

Driving costs 39p p/m and fuel costs, parking, insurance and car tax are all included. DriveNow customers can either pick up or drop off a car anywhere within the catchment area of North and East London (an area the size of Manhattan).

Joseph Seal-Driver, Managing Director of DriveNow UK, said: “We are committed to giving Londoners a fully flexible solution to traditional transport methods - our partnership with London City Airport gives our customers a flexible way to travel in and out of the capital. London City is the first airport to adopt DriveNow’s car-sharing service and we’re excited to be connecting London even closer to our other European cities.”

Tom Murphy, Commercial Manager at London City Airport said: “We pride ourselves on offering the best possible experience for customers. This new partnership with DriveNow offers more choice for passengers to make their journey as convenient as possible.”

New users can simply download the app, register their details and find the nearest DriveNow car.
