British Virgin Islands become even more accessible with new Norwegian Airlines flights

British Virgin Islands
The British Virgin Islands (BVI) will become even more accessible to UK visitors this winter when Norwegian Air launches its direct flights from London Gatwick to San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Starting on 4 November 2015, with one-way fares from just £179 per person, guests in transit to the BVI can enjoy a short stopover in San Juan, staying at hotels such as El San Juan, Ritz Carlton or Hotel El Convento, before transferring the following morning with Seaborne Airlines or Cape Air directly to the BVI’s Beef Island (Tortola).

With no airlines currently flying directly from London to Puerto Rico, Norwegian Air’s twice-weekly flights will be a first for the destination, operating on Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout high-season. With a fleet of brand new Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, passengers will have the option of economy, or premium seating for an upgraded flight experience. The new fleet is also far more fuel efficient, allowing Norwegian to reduce the cost of flying long haul to the Caribbean and making the BVI more affordable than ever.

To mark the launch of the new route, the BVI Tourist Board has teamed up with Coast to Coast Worldwide Travel to offer a two-week round-trip, staying at one of the charming and authentic Jewel properties of the BVI. Fischers Cove on the stunning island of Virgin Gorda is an intimate beach side property on the south-western coast, overlooking the Sir Francis Drakes Channel. Set amid tropical palms, the hotel studios are elegantly decorated in Caribbean colours and furnishings. Guests can relax on white sand beaches and dine on local dishes - the signature spicy and sweet curried coconut chicken is not to be missed.
