Turkish Airlines achieves record demand for its complimentary Istanbul tours

Twenty-thousand transit passengers take advantage of city tours by Turkish Airlines and TourIstanbul in 2014

Turkish Airlines is giving its transit passengers a unique opportunity to use their transit time visiting the sights of Istanbul instead of simply waiting at the airport. The tours, provided by TourIstanbul and with English speaking guides, are  offered three times daily.

By offering the opportunity to travellers with extended connecting times of at least six hours, Turkish Airlines once again distinguishes itself from other airlines by transforming a long wait into a delightful discovery of Istanbul, one of the world’s premier destinations. During the tour, customers will experience the city’s most significant historical sites including the Basilica Cistern, the Grand Bazaar, the Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome of Constantinople, the Hagia Sophia Museum, and Istiklal Avenue.

TourIstanbul also contributes to the global promotion of Istanbul with the support of a number of government and touristic departments.. The tours are designed to give transit passengers a quick, but interesting overview of Turkish Airlines’ home base.

The tours are offered at the following timings each day: 09:00-15:00, 09:00-18:00 and 12:00-18:00.
