KLM rated the most punctual airline of 2014

KLM has been recognised as the most punctual airline of 2014 by the FlightStats research agency within the biggest airline in the world category. The airline achieved a punctuality performance rate of 88.7%, beating the scores of several other major airlines for 2014, including SAS, Iberia, and Japan Airlines.

Last year, KLM was ranked the second most punctual airline, and its move in to the top spot to win this year’s On-Time Performance Award confirms the airline’s commitment to offering passengers a reliable service.

FlightStats has been publishing its On-Time Performance Awards for six years, recognising airlines for consistently high levels of performance. Measuring 150,000 flights a day worldwide, the OTP Awards classify any flights arriving at the gate less than 15 minutes after the scheduled arrival time, as on time.

With KLM offering 67 flights per day, from 18 UK airports, to over 200 destinations worldwide, its first place position and OTP rating of 88.7% mark an impressive achievement, and one that KLM will seek to continue to build on this year, for next year’s awards.
