Germanwings and United Airlines strengthen their collaboration / Codeshare connections to be feeders for transatlantic flights

Germanwings and United Airlines have entered into a close collaboration, the German airline will now offer codeshare flights as feeders for United Airlines’ long-haul flights from London, Berlin or Hamburg. The Germanwings connections involved will now also show a UA flight number from United Airlines in addition to the familiar 4U Germanwings number.

These codeshare flights can be booked on and in travel agencies. They are issued on a joint ticket with the long-haul flight and will allow passengers to continue their journey to the USA seamlessly.

In addition to codeshares, the partnership between the two airlines will offer several other well-known advantages to passengers. Germanwings passengers will thus be able to earn air miles under United’s MileagePlus program every time they book feeders from travel agencies or via Inversely, MileagePlus travellers can exchange the air miles they have earned for flights across the entire Germanwings route network.

The partnership between the two airlines is to be consolidated further over the coming months, to offer passengers further advantages and make transatlantic trips with Germanwings and United Airlines even easier.
