22 per cent turnover boost for Travel Counsellors

Travel Counsellors report a 22 per cent rise in turnover year on year, driven by £1.25m annual investment in technology.
The global company, backed by private equity house Equistone Partners Europe in 2014, has reported figures of £166m for the year ending October 2015 – a significant increase from £136m the previous year.

This growth is attributed to the adoption of the latest technology to enhance its services, enabling Travel Counsellors to provide the best possible client experience. In particular, the business has seen a 13 per cent increase globally in sales made through its in-house quote and booking technology, which enables Travel Counsellors to create unique itineraries tailored to business traveller preferences, at competitive prices. The proprietary software supports Travel Counsellors in their role, saving time, providing better documentation and prices, and enabling business growth.

Most recently, Travel Counsellors launched its new website for business travel and the ‘myTC’ phone app. These latest developments are part of a series of investments in building its corporate travel offering, and the company now has over 261 business travel specialists operating across seven markets.

Top-performing Corporate Travel Counsellor, Antony Guy commented: “The technology available to me as a franchisee is second to none. Phenix is constantly evolving and empowers me to deal directly with suppliers, taking ownership of the whole travel experience, and ultimately providing my clients with the most flexible, cost-effective solutions to suit their exact business needs. The app is fantastic for my frequent travellers enabling 24/7 access to documents (even when they don’t have Wi-Fi!), and a personal line through to me; and the newly designed website is a great support in expanding my business through increased brand awareness and lead generation”.
