Victor Bonett leaves Malta Tourism Authority

The Malta Tourism Authority has announced that long time serving Information and Support Services Executive, Victor Bonett will be leaving the organisation this month.
Victor Bonett joined the then National Tourism Organisation of Malta in July 1997 after a short stint at the Malta High Commission. During his 19-year career with the Malta Tourism Authority, Mr Bonett was responsible in organising and attending several consumer shows all over the UK and the Republic of Ireland. Together with his colleagues he has also helped in strengthening the relationships that the office had with UK Tour operators.

Mr Bonett was also very active in promoting the Maltese Islands during his tenure when Visit Malta was club sponsor of Sheffield United between 2008 and 2011 and beyond. Victor Bonett is also an active member of the Maltese Culture Movement in the UK and the Sovereign Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem.

Of his departure, Victor Bonett said that although he is sad to leave the MTA, he is very much looking forward to a long period of rest together with a new life back home in Malta. Victor said that he is very proud that together with his colleagues, past and present, both in the UK and in Malta he has witnessed an enhanced Maltese Tourism product that has gone from strength to strength.

Having met some wonderful and important people during his career, from HM The Queen to Presidents and Prime Ministers, not to mention footballers, athletes and musicians, he said he will surely miss most of all, the interaction he encountered at fairs with all prospective holiday makers to The Maltese Islands.
