Exclusive wine and food tours to Chile-Argentina and South Africa in winter 2017 launched by BKWine

The wine travel specialist BKWine has launched two new long distance wine tours: one to Chile and Argentina, and one to South Africa. Both will take place during the winter season 2017. These luxury tours focus on the wine and gastronomy of the three exciting New World wine countries and are led by a leading wine expert.

The wine and food tour to Chile and Argentina is an opportunity for the gourmet traveller to explore the wines and the food of these two countries in South America. The program includes unique private visits to many of the leading wine producers in the region. Argentina has become world famous for its popular Malbec wines and Chile for its Carmenere and Cabernet wines. The gastronomic specialities will also be prominently featured on this tour, designed for the wine and food enthusiast.

The tour starts in Buenos Aires (Argentina) with visits to the capital’s main sites. The Mendoza wine region at the foot of the Andes is explored in detail. A spectacular road trip over the Andes, reaching 9000 ft, takes the traveller to Chile. Several of Chile’s wine regions are visited as well as the two historic cities of Santiago and Valparaiso. The tour takes place from January 28, 2017 to February 12, and is priced at USD 5,900.

The wine and food tour to South Africa takes the traveller on an exploration of this young wine country’s best wineries. South Africa is rapidly developing into one of the New World’s most dynamic and exciting wine producers. The tour will explore both the classic wine regions of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek as well as the new and emerging coastal region, including Hermanus and Walker Bay, on the beautiful south coast.

Included on the program are tours of the city of Cape Town, with Table Mountain, the Cape Peninsula and the Cape of Good Hope. The South African wines will also be featured on several top-class gastronomic meals at the wineries. The tour takes place starting February 24 and ending on March 6, 2017 and is priced at 3100 euro (approx. USD 3495).

Both tours are guided and managed by Britt Karlsson, a leading award winning international wine writer, published for example on and BKWine Magazine, with extensive personal contacts with winemakers in these New World wine countries, which will give the traveller exclusive access to many winemakers.
