Last call for miaList 2016 nominations

Time is running out for those outstanding members of the meetings, hospitality and events industry to be nominated for the Meetings Industry Association’s prestigious miaList 2016.
Nominations for the miaList, which is supported by The Meetings Show and recognises those inspiring and passionate individuals who go above and beyond the call of duty, close on Monday, 18 April.

Appealing to industry, Jane Longhurst, chief executive of the mia, said: “People are at the heart of the UK’s meeting and events industry. We’re wanting to hear about those individuals who make the sector so exceptional and celebrate them as shining examples of excellence. Whether those individuals are frontline or behind the scenes, we want you to tell us why you think they are worthy of a place on the hotly-contested miaList 2016.”

Any person working within meetings, hospitality or events in the UK or Ireland is eligible for the miaList 2016. However, the person nominating cannot nominate themselves.

Nominations will be assessed by a judging panel, who will select a shortlist. Those shortlisted candidates will then be invited to attend a lunch, where they will meet with the judges and participate in interviews.

The categories are as follows:
• Conference & Events people
• Food & Beverage (Production) people
• Food & Beverage (Service) people
• Front of House people
• Sales people
• Marketing people
• Back of House people
• Rising Star
• Team Award

The awards are free and you do not need to be a member of the mia to enter. Please visit for full details and an application form. Completed forms and portfolios of evidence must be submitted by Monday 18th April 2016.

The winners will be announced at the miaList lunch on Friday 16th September 2016 at Park Plaza Victoria, London.
