44% of businesses see electric cars as the future
of business travel

Europcar research reveals mobility priorities of employers

New research undertaken by Europcar, the leader in car hire services in Europe, reveals that 85% of firms surveyed* rated reducing the carbon footprint and environmental impact of business travel as ‘important’ or ‘very important’. 44% of those surveyed by Europcar would consider using electric vehicles to improve future business travel for their organisation.

These new findings highlight the importance of Europcar’s commitment to moving its fleet to 5% electric vehicles by 2020.

At the 2016 Business Travel Show, Europcar experts are discussing these environmental concerns, focusing on its latest initiatives designed to help organisations reduce their carbon footprint whilst keeping staff moving.  With a fleet of Nissan LEAF electric vehicles, available for hire as well as to support delivery and collection from selected locations around the UK, and its recent acquisition of a majority share in electric car club, E-Car Club, Europcar is addressing the environmental concerns that underpin the travel strategies of most businesses.

The Europcar research also revealed that over half (55%) of firms see using public transport as a key part of greener business travel.  Europcar supports this goal by locating branches close to key railway stations across the UK. Europcar’s fast-track business desks at 34 UK airport locations also ensure business travellers can continue their journey as quickly as possible.

“It’s clear from our survey that environmental impact is a key concern for Business Travel Managers,” explains Ken McCall, Managing Director, Europcar UK Group. “The Business Travel Show allows us to talk about the range of services we have that focus on helping our corporate clients manage the cost, efficiency and environmental pressures for their business. Visitors to the Europcar stand will get a closer look at our expanding range of mobility solutions, designed to meet the needs of business travellers.”
