Hamburg Convention Bureau extends reach into UK market

Hamburg Convention Bureau is expanding on its PR and marketing drive with the appointment of UK PR agency. Clareville PR, which also works with the Hamburg Convention Bureau (HCB) in the USA, is charged with promoting the city as key location for meetings, conferences and events. The strategy focuses on the city’s core economic clusters as well as key events taking place.

HCB works with its partners, businesses, academia and politicians to drive cross-sector partnerships encouraging meetings and events across the eight clusters: media & IT, aviation, life sciences, logistics, creative industries, healthcare, renewable energies, maritime industries.

Florian Gerdes, Marketing Manager Conventions at Hamburg Convention Bureau, explains: “Hamburg is one of Germany’s top business locations, and ranks among Europe’s top ten most popular destinations. We’re keen to share this message with UK planners and showcase how they can tap into existing areas of expertise within the city to make their event impactful and engaging.

“The city has broken records in trade fair and conference business and has a packed calendar of international conferences and exhibitions in 2016 as well as major new venues on the horizon such as the Elbphilharmonie concert hall.”

London-based Clareville PR also works with the German Convention Bureau, which counts Hamburg among its members.
