Trainline and CWT renew partnership following 17% reduction in rail spend

Leading travel management company Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) has signed a five year renewal agreement with Trainline.
Trainline’s Business Travel Rail Ticketing Solutions have reduced CWT’s clients’ travel spend from a £126.15 Average Transaction Value in 2007, to just £104.54 in 2015, against an annual inflation which has seen rail fares grow by over 48% over the same period.

The renewed agreement allows CWT clients and customers to take full advantage of Trainline’s award winning self-book tool solution, boasting features such as a cheapest ticket travel policy, best fare finder, live departure boards, station finder and Outlook calendar itinerary integration. Other tools in the Trainline suite include;
- Access to the broadest range of ticket delivery options for CWT customers with barcoded ‘Print Your Own’, onsite printers or kiosks and the popular ‘Ticket on Departure’ collected from the station
- Delivery of detailed management information that integrates into CWT’s reporting and new CWT AnalytIQs tool, allowing clients to delve into their data and understand travel patterns
- Fully integrated Trainline UK rail content via online booking tools such as KDS, IFAO Cytric and Concur, giving customers an unrivalled choice of rail content consumption options
- Expert agent desktop solution enabling CWT agents to fully support clients who want offline options for rail, with multi layered collapsible screens, seat maps and the ability to view and amend bookings made through any of Trainline’s booking channels

Clare Morrissey, Head of B2B Account Management, at Trainline said, “We look forward to continuing an exciting and innovative partnership, where we can deliver some of the exciting tech developments that we have in our consumer applications to CWT’s customers. Trainline Technology is in a really exciting place right now and this can only benefit our key TMC partners like CWT and ultimately the individual business traveller.”
