Mexia Communications secures Lord’s events & hospitality contract

Meetings and events specialist PR firm Mexia Communications has announced that is has been appointed by Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), owners of Lord’s Cricket Ground, to represent the venue for two core strands of its business, meetings and events and hospitality. Mexia secured the contract following a three-way pitch.

Mexia Communications Managing Director Kursha Woodgate says: “Lord’s is an iconic venue, synonymous with prestige, English tradition and excellence and we are genuinely thrilled to have been appointed. Following England’s Ashes win, this is a great year for cricket and for the venue as an inspirational location for meetings and events in addition to superb hospitality experiences. I am really proud of the team at Mexia for our achievement and we are excited to get started.”

Nick Kenton, Head of Sales for Meetings, Events and Hospitality at MCC, adds: “Mexia demonstrated their significant industry knowledge and experience, coupled with some great creative ideas which gave us a flavour of what the team could bring to the table for Lord’s. We were really impressed with the quality of the team put forward by Mexia and their combined skill-set in traditional media and digital was a distinct advantage.”

The new contract follows a series of new business wins and renewals for Mexia, including Twickenham Experience, Sadler’s Wells, Lausanne Tourism & Convention Bureau and special events agency Goose Live Events. Mexia recently expanded its digital team to service growing demand for inbound and content marketing services.
