The Inspiring Leadership Trust Annual Awards Ceremony and Charity Gala launched for the first time in London on the 2nd of September at the exclusive five-star Corinthia Hotel in London. Whilst a start-up charity, the quality of this inspirational event and the 200 VIP guests, business executives and celebrities it attracted on the night said anything but.
The event had a wealth of company volunteers from a variety of leading organisations including RBS, Accenture, PWC, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Northern Trust, Lloyds Banking Group and the expertise of drp, the event succeeded in inspiring everyone there. The night saw the trust raise over £21,000, and all funding goes directly to targeted projects.

Hosted by Gemma Morris, Sky News Journalist and presenter, and the CEO’s Trusted Advisor, Jonathan Bowman-Perks MBE, the night was a fusion of stunning haute couture and celebrity favourites Pia Michi, Lisa Redman, Dar Sara and L.K.Bennett. The purpose was two-fold: firstly, it was a celebration of inspirational talents from the world of fashion, music, entertainment and business, which led on to an exciting awards ceremony to recognise outstanding leaders who make a significant contribution to business and community.

Secondly, the launch was an invitation challenging male and female leaders to get involved and take positive action to address, what the founder Leigh Bowman-Perks described as, “one of the biggest challenges of the 21st century; the empowerment of vulnerable women and their families to help advance communities.” Thanks to charismatic Sotheby’s Auctioneer Ed Rising, the night saw the trust raise over £24,000.

The ILT’s Patron Sir Richard Stagg, Chairman of the Foreign Common Office reinforced the importance of the projects, which are specifically targeted for a positive and sustainable impact. He shared why it’s so important for leaders and businesses to be part of the change by helping to build momentum and fully leverage their resources and skills.

Having only been established a few months ago, the ILT team are already making a difference as part of their collaboration with three charities; Kidsout (UK), Cambridge University Hospital’s Addenbrookes Abroad (Botswana) and hope for Teenage Mothers (Kenya) focusing on education, healthcare and entrepreneurship. There’s absolutely no stopping this team either, as they extend campaign to the Middle-East and the US this year ready for launching in in 2016.

With the backdrop of a breath-taking setting, audiences were entertained by the outstanding live performances from Sam Brockington, Rory Gilmore of ‘Flags’ and renowned 90’s singing sensation Rozalla. Overall the night was a huge success for all involved and the evening ended with live music and dancing provided all female collaboration ‘High on Heels’.
