Regent Porto Montenegro appoints Mango PR in the UK

Regent Porto Montenegro
Mango PR has been appointed to represent the newest addition to the Regent Hotels & Resorts portfolio, Regent Porto Montenegro.   Set against one of the most dramatic backdrops in Europe, Regent Porto Montenegro sits at the heart of the glamorous Porto Montenegro super yacht marina on the shores of the Adriatic, on Boka Bay.

British architects Reardon Smith (Monastero Santa Rosa Italy, The Savoy, The Lanesborough and The Beaumont, London) have successfully ensured that this elegant pale yellow, terracotta-roofed building deftly acknowledges Boka Bay’s 400 years under Venetian rule, whilst blending beautifully into its maritime setting.  Tivat, formerly an Austro-Hungarian naval base, is now emerging into the next chapter of its story, as a superyacht homeport in this fascinating, modern-day, jetsetter’s hotspot.

The wonderfully understated interiors are the work of designer Tino Zervudachi of the famous design company Mlinaric, Henry & Zervudachi.  This is the first hotel Tino has done and as a result, it feels like a private home.   There is a very subtle nautical theme, which adds a sense of place and a spirit of fun without being unwieldy.  The guestrooms and the swimming pool have awe-inspiring views of the beautiful Boka Bay or soaring mountain ranges.

With the long hot summer just around the corner, the spot to be is the hotel’s incredibly secluded beach, reachable only by a phenomenal boat ride across the Bay.   Here, crystal clear waters and fresh, grilled seafood are the order of the day.

Back at the hotel, foodies will gravitate towards the hotel’s three restaurants, which focus on real flavours and local ingredients, blending Mediterranean and Adriatic specialities with a touch of Fusian-Asian.  Outside, in Porto Montenegro Village, there is a kaleidoscope of restaurants to discover.   Here too, shopaholics will find a satisfyingly intelligent selection of retail, from big name brands to smaller interesting boutiques, such as Wolf and Badger, hot from Notting Hill and Dover Street; fashionista’s favourite jewellers, Zoe and Morgan;  Heidi Klein, for superyacht chic, or Charles Finch’s Chucs Dive & Mountain Shop for a bit of old-world glamour with a new twist.

This is also a place that fuses history with sunshine and chic; the atmospheric World Heritage sites of Perast, the Old Town of Kotor and the enchanting Our-Lady-of-The-Rocks are just a boat ride away - and Dubrovnik is easily done as a day’s outing.

Lucinda Buxton, Founder & Director of Mango PR said:    “Montenegro has already been dubbed The Monaco of the southern Adriatic, but this astonishing place has been a magnet for glamorous travellers for years; Sofia Loren, Richard Burton, Elizabeth Taylor, Princess Margaret – even the romantic poet Lord Byron, who described this coastline as ‘the most beautiful encounter of land and sea’ - and he could have said that yesterday.  This wonderfully elegant hotel is the perfect base to explore this small but spectacularly beautiful country.”

To mark the hotel’s first full summer of operation, Regent Porto Montenegro is offering guests a four-night stay for the price of three. Buffet breakfast is included, use of the wellness area and swimming pools of the Regent Spa, priority access to the secluded beach and complimentary WiFi.  Valid until 30th September 2015 with rates starting from 300 euros per room per night.
