Shell has appointed WRG for the second year running, to manage the crew logistics, registration and data management of the Shell Eco-marathon in its prestigious 30th anniversary year in Manila and Rotterdam.
The Shell Eco-marathon sees hundreds of student teams from all over the world compete to build the world’s most energy efficient vehicle, pushing the boundaries of fuel efficiency and inspiring young people around the world to think differently about our global resources and energy consumption. .

The Shell Eco-marathon competition dates back to 1939 when Shell Oil Company employees in the USA made a friendly wager over who could travel furthest on the same amount of fuel. Since then it has expanded to two more continents, includes many energy types and sparks passionate debate around the future of energy and mobility.

With over 800 event staff, WRG were tasked with designing a highly efficient event registration management strategy. To guarantee a smooth running event,  the WRG team effectively handled the flow of registration by staggering days and opening earlier pre-event.  Most  importantly,  this enabled the team to give competitors a positive and inspiring  brand  experience.

Alan Doyle, Deputy Head of Operations at WRG said: “We’re incredibly proud to support Shell in the 30th year of the iconic Shell Eco-marathon. We relish the challenge to continually improve the efficient running of the event, enabling the team to deliver an unforgettable experience for delegates.”
