STA Travel joins GTMC as new member

The GTMC has announced that STA Travel, the world’s largest youth and student travel company, has joined as its newest member.
Following the launch of ‘Business Travel by STA Travel’ in March 2015 in response to the rapidly growing section of business travellers between the ages of 18 and 35, the youth travel specialist will now offer a full TMC service. Key offerings will include online booking tools, account management, detailed management information, finance options, and a fresh way of managing a corporate travel policy.

Paul Wait, chief executive of the GTMC said, “Our own research has shown that it is important to consider the changing needs of the millennial business traveller and what is priority to them in terms of productive yet cost effective travel solutions. STA Travel has a strong understanding of this demographic and we look forward to welcoming them to our growing network.”

Harriet Kerr, business development director, STA Travel commented, “The GTMC has a strong reputation amongst the business travel community and with the launch of Business Travel by STA Travel it is a great opportunity for us to network with industry peers and gain invaluable contacts through the organisation’s partner portfolio. We look forward to working closely with the GTMC to develop our offering for the younger generation of business travellers.”

Representing a diverse range of travel management companies – from global companies to small independent specialists and top regional agencies – the GTMC is the voice of business travel and acts to lobby those who have an impact on the business travel community, together with promoting the activities of its members as the best in quality and value to the business traveller.
