EVCOM welcomes Apprenticeship Standard

A launch event for the 'ambitious' new Apprenticeship Standard for the events industry will take place on 9 June, with key players behind the scheme setting a target for government approval by year end.
The Trailblazers scheme, which will focus on creating an innovative standard for the events industry enabling an alternative route for young people, was given the green light by government in March.

The launch event is being hosted by London & Partners with more than 20 key industry figures already confirmed to attend.  EVCOM CEO Marco Forgione will be among those attending the meeting which will provide an overview of the scheme, how it will benefit employers and convene an Industry Advisory Board, to govern the creation of the standard; and a Standard Development Board, which will set the core standards, together with options and the detail that sits within them.

Marco Forgione said, “This is a fantastic initiative for our industry and we are pleased to be an active partner in this project.  EVCOM is committed to nurturing and developing new talent into our sector and look forward to welcoming the first apprentices.”
