AlliedPRA New Orleans coordinates annual iLead and volunteer event with Hyatt

AlliedPRA Inc., a global leader in the destination management company (DMC) sector, worked with Hyatt to produce a major Community Service project, the impact of which can be felt by tens of thousands of families in New Orleans East. The event took over Joe Brown Park, a facility that serves a large underserved community in New Orleans.

AlliedPRA New Orleans works with many corporate groups to fulfill their corporate social responsibility and commitment to volunteerism and community involvement.

Today, together with HandsOn New Orleans, Hike for KaTREEna, Friends of Joe Brown Park, and Renard Thomas, AlliedPRA New Orleans coordinated efforts for about 600 associates to kick off their annual iLead meeting by giving back to the New Orleans community. They planted trees and grass, mulched, trimmed trees, and cleaned up nature trails and lagoons at Joe Brown Park in New Orleans East, an area that was heavily devastated by Hurricane Katrina.

The Joe W. Brown Recreation center provides many services to the community including playground equipment, multi-purpose rooms, various multi-purpose fields, and walking trails.

The park underwent a $26 million transformation with funds from FEMA, corporate partners, and community philanthropic organizations.  P

ark maintenance, such as grounds beautification and landscaping, lacks financial support and is solely funded by volunteers such as the Boy Scouts of America, Friends of Joe Brown Park, and corporate group volunteerism projects.
