Lime Venue Portfolio launches 2015 mentoring scheme

Lime Venue Portfolio (LVP), the UK’s largest collection of unusual, sporting and cultural venues, and part of Levy Restaurants UK, has started the second wave of its mentoring scheme ‘Growing with LVP’. Following last year's successful launch and the positive feedback from participants, this year’s programme will continue to ensure that the next generation of the industry’s movers and shakers have the resources to develop and progress in their careers.

Throughout the year, five individuals from SnowDome (Rebecca White), Edgbaston Stadium (Felicity Proctor), King Power Stadium at Leicester City FC (Anna Thuraisingham), Bristol Zoo & Gardens (Kellie Gravestock) and LVP’s Central Sales Team (Zoe Powell), will be receiving one-to-one advice from six senior team members from Levy Restaurants UK. This year’s scheme kicked off with a ‘Back to the Floor’ challenge at the BRIT Awards, where mentees gained a hands-on understanding of the operational side of events.

Each mentor will spend dedicated time with programme participants, covering areas, such as event management, finance, sales, marketing and client retention. Networking with industry peers will also be facilitated through attendance at trade associations and client events.

The programme has been created by Jo Kenny, C&E development manager for LVP.  She said: “My ambition for the programme is to develop our colleagues and help them reach their potential through the transfer of knowledge and know-how within Levy Restaurants UK and LVP. In doing so, they will also grow to make significant contributions to our clients and the sector.”

Mentors for 2015 are Bethan James, director of special events, Payne and Gunter; Kathryn Richmond, strategic partnership director, Levy Restaurants UK; Lloyd Woodward, assistant finance manager; Kerry Wright, key account manager, and Richard Kadri-Langford, head of marketing for LVP.

Jo Austin, head of sales at Lime Venue Portfolio, said: “Growing with LVP, shows how passionate we are about developing our people. Through the programme they will gain a more holistic view of our business and become leaders in the field of meetings and events.”

Lime Venue Portfolio provides dedicated marketing and sales support and an added commercial arm to its venues.
