Annual Hotel Conference 2014 announces The Clink Charity as chosen Charity of the year

The Annual Hotel Conference, the UK’s leading event for the hotel industry, has announced it will be supporting The Clink Charity as its chosen charity.
Following a recent visit for lunch to The Clink at HMP Brixton, organisers of the Annual Hotel Conference felt compelled to support this forward thinking charity as they saw first-hand how this training and rehabilitation initiative turns round lives of ex-offenders.

Jonathan Langston from The Annual Hotel Conference, co-founder of the Annual Hotel Conference says: “We’re delighted to be supporting The Clink Charity this year – the work they do is outstanding and the results in terms of reducing reoffending rates speak for themselves. Our industry needs to support charities like this that really make a difference and with a wide variety of individual, boutique and consortium hotel owners, operators and managers, developers and investors, we’re confident The Clink will be able to engage with some future employers for these ex-offenders who demonstrate their passion and ability to turn their lives around.”

Chris Moore, chief executive, The Clink Charity says: “We’re hugely grateful to the Annual Hotel Conference for choosing to support us this year. Our training restaurant allow us to offer Clink trainees a genuine opportunity to turn their lives around, giving them true-to-life work experience and nationally recognised NVQ City & Guilds qualifications but we’re also committed to finding full-time employment for our graduates, within the hospitality industry. We rely heavily on philanthropic funding and donations of equipment from industry suppliers so we’re incredibly thankful to the Annual Hotel Conference for giving us this opportunity to engage with exhibitors and attendees alike.”

The Clink currently has raining restaurants open at HMP High Down, HMP Cardiff and HMP Brixton and there are plans for a restaurant to open at HMP Styal in the spring of 2015.
