HBAA records its most successful ever Annual Forum

The HBAA concluded its best ever attended Annual Forum last week.  Over 300 senior representatives from the agent and venue community came together to look at trends in the sector as well as to be inspired by world class speakers.
The headline event in the HBAA’s educational programme, The Annual Forum is designed to underline the association’s commitment to learning and championing professionalism in the sector.  The content of the two day event was driven by Chris Parnham and reinforced his wider objectives for the association during his tenure as chairman.  Under the title ‘Fast Forward Thinking’ this year’s conference saw more content, more exchange of ideas and more diversity than ever before.

Keynote speakers included Martin McCourt and Tim Dingle, and an in-depth and candid interview of industry stalwart Dev Anand drew the event to its conclusion on day two, leaving delegates inspired and invigorated.  2014’s Forum saw the highest ever concentration of agents with senior representatives attending from Capita Travel and Events,  Banks Sadler, Conference Care and Inntel.  Joining the agents were venues, serviced apartment companies and global hotel chains, as well as leading independent properties.

Lucy Sikora from The Dorchester commented: “This year's Forum has left delegates enriched with new ways of thinking and to facing the commercial challenges ahead. The speakers have been phenomenal and given great insights and ideas. The networking dinner is always a highlight and this year certainly didn't disappoint!”

Caralyn Overs from the Birmingham Convention Bureau added, “The quality of the speakers was fantastic. The Dyson talk was just so enjoyable and the way the speakers have related it back to everybody in the industry is excellent. We are really glad that we have supported and sponsored this Forum."

Andy Huthwaite from Center Parcs said, “The forum was fantastic last week, each seminar was well thought out and very useful.”

Joanne Egan, Director at Hotel Desk, commented, “Tim Dingle’s Rules for Being Amazing Every Day is now on all our screensavers!”

Simon Rigby of DeVere Venues added, “I really enjoyed the HBAA event last week. I learnt so much in those two days and thought it was a great event with great speakers and a super dinner, and I particularly enjoyed Martin’s talk on Dyson.”

Diana White, from Helms Briscoe, added, “What you achieved at the Forum was magnificent - you have shaken up the organisation and brought it live and kicking into a ‘fast forward thinking’ world!”

Chris Parnham chair of HBAA said, “Without doubt this Forum was a pinnacle for the association, the content really hit the mark and the speakers helped draw the delegates.  We have not been to Birmingham before for such a high profile event and are delighted that delegates joined us in droves.  The Hilton Birmingham Metropole offered exemplary conference services and our partners including Speakers Corner and Etherlive were tireless in their support for making this the best event ever”.
