Hiscox strengthens event insurance offering with the acquisition of Event Assured

Leading specialist insurer Hiscox has announced that it has reached an agreement with Applewell Ltd. to acquire Event Assured, a specialist provider of insurance for the events sector. The business will continue to operate under the Event Assured brand, with the existing local management team remaining in place. Founder Brian Kirsch will continue to provide strategic insight as a consultant.

Serving a wide range of clients, from starts-ups to global companies, Event Assured’s expertise includes event cancellation and disruption, legal liabilities, professional indemnity, exhibitors, conference and incentive travel insurance. The team of four will work alongside the existing team of Hiscox event underwriters and claims experts.

Event Assured’s clients will now also have seamless access to other specialist Hiscox’s products for example, specialist production insurance (covering the risks associated with sophisticated event production), cyber and data insurance and Directors and Officers’ liability cover.
