New partnership makes travel cheaper and easier for delegates at conferences and events in Leicester

The Leicester and Leicestershire Convention Bureau has announced a new partnership with train operator, East Midlands Trains to offer discounts of up to 50 per cent off tickets for visitors attending business conferences, events or exhibitions in the city and county.
Leicester is centrally located in the UK and is only 69 minutes from London by train with East Midlands Trains. This announcement follows the recent news that UKinbound, one of the UK¹s leading tourism trade associations, is the latest in a growing number of national bodies to select Leicester and Leicestershire as a destination in which to host their conventions.

Peter Koukoularides, Account Manager at East Midlands Trains said: "We have a great track record of working with partners across our route to encourage more people to travel by train. We have a particular focus on business travellers and offer cost effective fares to encourage conference organisers to use our services so they can choose the impressive conference facilities in Leicester and Leicestershire. The partnership with Leicester Promotions gives us additional avenues to explore and promote."

Martin Peters, Chief Executive of Leicester Shire Promotions added: "Leicester and Leicestershire is centrally located and is easily accessible as a conference destination by delegates throughout the UK. This partnership with East Midlands Trains offers a sustainable and cost-effective means of travel for individual business visitors attending events here, but also offers a solution that makes it financially attractive for conference buyers to place conference business within the destination."

Ukinbound represents over 300 tourism businesses and is the only one that focuses solely on the interests of the UK's inbound tourism sector. The convention in Leicester will run from 11-13 February 2015 and 250 delegates are expected to attend. The event will attract key industry figures as well as an exciting line-up of high profile speakers.
