Industry responds to APPG Inquiry

A document summarizing the industry response to the All Party Parliamentary Group Inquiry into the international competiveness of the UK events industry has been drafted and is available to the industry.
The results of the APPGI were presented in December 2013 and industry was given the opportunity to submit responses and commentary on the findings of the report at International Confex earlier this year.  The document has been drafted by the secretariat for the campaign, Britain for Events, and also includes input from a number of individuals and organisations from across the industry, collated over the last few months.

The document is being published for the industry and has been passed back to the APPG. Meanwhile, the Britain for Events campaign and BVEP continue to hold meetings with Nick de Bois MP, Chairman of the All party Parliamentary Group for Events to ensure government delivers on the recommendations put forward in the report.

The findings of the report will also be addressed during a meeting with Helen Grant MP, Minister of Tourism, where the industry will request the minister follows up with other Secretaries of State to progress on the actions identified in the Report as requested by David Cameron, the Prime Minister.

The report is available to view on the Britain for Events website, the BVEP website. The industry can continue to feedback comments through Britain for Events until the document is submitted to the APPG in October as part of National Events Month.
