Britain for Events launches National Events Month

Britain for Events, the UK events industry’s most inclusive self-promotional campaign, launched its National Events Month initiative last week at the Meetings Show UK. The promotional month will take place in October 2014, focusing on a different sector of the industry in each of the four focus weeks.

As part of the campaign, National Events Month will hold ‘host’ events of each of the focus weeks; Exhibitions and Experimental, Conferences and Meetings, Sporting and Outdoor events, Incentive Travel and Corporate Hospitality. The campaign will also support any events looking to take place under the campaign branding as part of the celebratory month.

Britain for Events is looking to focus on the creative flair found within the UK’s leading event venues and organisations.

“We have lots to be proud of within the UK from dynamic festivals and exhibitions, to creative brand activations and globally revered conferences and congresses. National Events Month is about showcasing the breadth and diversity within the UK events industry. National Events Month will have a positive impact for everyone and we want event professionals to get involved and host their own events” comments Britain for Events Campaign Director, Alistair Turner.

Already this year the International Festival for Business has proved an outstanding success, providing a focal point for businesses aiming to raise their profile within their given sectors. As well as launching the National Events Month the campaign will continue to support the APPG’s recommendations, whilst continuing to celebrate the success of Britain on the international stage.

Michael Hirst OBE, Chair of the Business Visits and Events Partnership (BVEP), added, “Events in Britain embrace every part of Britain’s economic, social and cultural framework. They permeate every aspect of Britain’s commercial and cultural landscape. They provide the platform for Britain to display itself to the world.”
