Potteries-based Bureau offers meetings on a plate

The award-winning Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Conference Bureau has timed the unveiling of its latest Conference Guide to coincide with this year’s Meetings Show, which will be staged at Olympia in London from July 8th-10th.

Aimed at boosting conference, meeting and business travel to the area, the Bureau’s first ever appearance at The Meetings Show will offer everyone involved in the industry an ideal opportunity to find out more about over 35 meetings venues scattered throughout Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.

The full colour guide, with a shelf-life of two years, includes several newcomers to the Bureau as well as many venues which have strong connections to its overall theme (fittingly enough for a brochure that has been made in Stoke-on-Trent & The Potteries) of “Meetings on a Plate”.

Hoping to convince everyone at The Meetings Show and beyond that Stoke-on-Trent & Staffordshire is “just their cup of tea”, the Bureau will be based on STAND D32K and will be joined on by The Right Solution’s Karen Walters, who is helping to deliver a programme of actions for the Bureau.

Conference Bureau Manager, Claire Williams explains: “Karen is now helping us to make conference and event organisers much more aware of the range of venues we have on offer.”

The Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Conference Bureau’s work with The Right Solution has already included research which revealed that this is a part of the country where the meetings-and-events industry now generates around £316m worth of business a year for the local economy.

The region was also rated highly by conference and event organisers for location, ease of travel and value for money. Walters will now build on that awareness by attending key industry events, such as The Meetings Show, to increase the level of conferences and meetings being held here.

The new Guide, meanwhile, is packed with all of the information required to book the perfect meeting, at the perfect venue, in the perfect location. New venues for 2014 include The National Memorial Arboretum, Burton Town Hall, and Sky Conference Lounge and Suites at the YMCA, which join the likes of 4 star venues Crewe Hall, Swinfen Hall and the exclusive Weston Park.

Previous winners of the M&IT "Best UK Convention Bureau", and a member of the Meetings Industry Association (MIA), the Staffordshire Stoke-on-Trent Conference Bureau also operates a free Venue Finding Service.

The new Meetings on a Plate themed guide will be available for the first time at The Meetings Show from July 8th-10th.
